London Marathon 2019

[p]I am delighted to have secured a place for the London Marathon on Sunday April 28th 2019. At the tender age of 49, I felt this would probably be my last chance to take on this challenge, and so my training has commenced and I am getting in shape. I will be running for a most fantastic charity in Henley - The Chiltern Centre for the Disabled, supporting children and young adults, and everything I raise will go to them. Thank you for your very kind donation and support. [/p][p]One of the great benefits of living in Henley is that there are so many Olympians around to give you great advice. My training is going very well, I have built my distance up over time, running short (5 km) runs each day at 7am, and longer (15km) runs at the weekend. My super fast shoes have arrived, well they have a swoosh, and I have a spare pair now as well. I have one new rule, never to get off the treadmill until its over. I'm looking forward to Sunday 28th April, although on days I do feel quite apprehensive, 26.2 miles or 42km is a very long way![/p]
