My story

[p]After being ill for a number of years in my childhood/early teens, I have always had a desire to push myself physically. [/p][p]It was at the Isle of Man 24hr challenge 2016, when I first heard about the RAI (Race Around Ireland). Straight away I was interested in doing this race. Over the next few weeks I gathered as much information on the RAI and was thinking of doing it 2017.[/p][p]Sadly at the start of 2017, we found out that Alison (My wife) had lung cancer. This came as quite a bit of a shock to us all, as we wouldn’t place Alison in the bracket of getting cancer as she was very active with her running and cycling. [/p][p]The doctors and nurses where great in their support, and during treatment at the MacMillan suite at Raigmore. With their care, understanding and friendly face through hard times. For this reason I’m hoping to raise some cash for MacMillan Cancer Support.[/p][p]We live in the Moray Firth Radio coverage area and would like to also raise some cash for MFR Cash for Kids. They are a great charity that support thousands of disadvantaged kids in the North of Scotland, making a big difference in their lives giving them much needed support.[/p][p]My aims is to complete the RAI within the allocated time and qualify for the RAAM (Race Across America), set a new British record and hopefully by winning it. [/p][p][br][/p]
