My story

[p]Thank you for visiting our team's fundraising page for the 2019 London Legal sponsored walk.[/p][p]Our Team is: Jane van Zyl, Cindy Williams, Sybille Raphael, Elena Cornaro, Tim Oliver, Terry Hawkins, Rhiannon Maddocks, Natalia Byng, Mary and Maggie Starks[/p][p]The team is raising funds for Working Families and all funds donated through this page will be passed to the charity without deduction. Working Families www.workingfamilies.org.uk[/p][p]Working Families is the UK’s work life balance charity. We provide free legal advice to thousands of parents and carers every year, who are struggling with the demands of work, family and children.[/p][p]We help parents like Gemma whose manager sacked her the day she told him she was pregnant, or Christine whose boss said she would never have employed her if she had known she had a disabled child. Working Families gives parents and carers the legal advice, information and courage to challenge decisions and negotiate a solution which keeps them in work whilst meeting the needs of their employers.[/p][p]One mother our team supported emailed this message of thanks: Dear Working Families … I think your organisation is fantastic and the work you do is priceless. I am amazed at the difficulties faced with being a working mum. I found the strength, courage and knowledge to succeed with the help of your team.[/p][p]Please donate as generously as you are able: £39 will pay for legal advice for a parent struggling with a problem at work/ £500 will provide help for 12 parents of disabled children/ £1,950 will enable 50 vulnerable parents to protect their employment rights.[/p][p]Every donation will make a difference, and thank you so much for your support.[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
