My story

[p]Having been directly involved with the recent tragic events at Stoke Canon level crossing, where the train we were both working was involved in a fatality, we have decided to fundraise for the Samaritans, when we participate in the Taunton Half Marathon on Sunday 7th April.[/p][p]Fatalities are sadly a regular occurrence on our railways, where the staff and emergency services involved have to live with the lasting traumatic consequences that these events have on both them and their loved ones.[/p][p]We wanted to offer our support to a charity, that works to reduce the likelihood of these events happening.[/p][p]We respectfully ask that comments about the incident in question are not posted on this fundraising page.[/p][p]Thank you for your support - Adam & Gary[/p][p][br][/p][p]Update - 8th April - We completed Taunton Half Marathon with a time of 2:15:02. Thank you everyone for your donations, messages and support. We are both very grateful, humbled and proud of what we have achieved.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Offline Donations[/p][p]FirstGroup Charity Matching - £400[/p][p]GWR - £300[/p][p]ASLEF Exeter Branch - £100[/p][p]Scott B - £40[/p][p]Rachael C - £20[/p][p]Pete & Sue - £30[/p][p]Matt H - £10[/p][p]Nigel H - £10[/p][p]Richard B - £10[/p][p]XC Driver - £10[/p][p]Thank you all![/p]
