My story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting my page. [/p][p]After being at London marathon last year supporting a friend on his epic run for VICTA, i had the privilege to meet up with some of the charity staff and organisers that were there at the event. After talking to them about VICTA it soon became apparent that this was a very worthy cause to raise funds for and to help in any way i could, i then made the decision there and then that i would be giving my efforts to run the London Marathon in aid of VICTA in 2020.[/p][p]Training started during November 2019 with slowly increasing distance runs, in an effort that the main training plan does not impact my legs to much with a shock to the system when that kicks in on January 1st 2020. [/p][p]Sunday morning lie-in's and 2 runs a week have now become a thing of the past, and i have to remind myself when i awake on a sunday morning at 6am why i am getting out of bed at this early hour, so i can eat a little breakfast before going for a long run when the sun comes up at 7.30am. I found out the hard way that running on an empty stomach for 13 miles does not work for me very well and 3 rusks later (yes baby rusks) i am ready to get into my running gear and out the door.[/p][p]Now at the end of January 2020, and up to 16 miles in a long run accomplished, i am starting to feel more confident about making this marathon happen and now my efforts are turning towards fundraising as the running is almost a routine of 4 runs a week, one of which is a long run at the weekend.[/p][p]I am very fortunate to have running friends who are all pitching in to help raise funds for us all with a night at the local night club dedicated to VICTA sponsoreship / raffle (80s night), pictures to follow and hopefully we can raise donations at the bar in the process as well.[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
