My story

[p]Pancreatic cancer: the toughest cancer to diagnose, treat and survive.[/p][p]1 in 4 people won't survive a month. 3 in 4 won't survive for a year.[/p][p]Pancreatic Cancer UK fund research, provide support and campaign to take on this tough cancer together.[/p][p][br][/p][p] “My cousin has recently been diagnosed with terminal Pancreatic Cancer and is currently receiving Chemotherapy / Radiotherapy treatment to try and extend his life so he can spend more time with his young family. He his 50 years old and is no longer able to work.[/p][p]Although we are cousins, I class him as my brother and we are close. I have visited him frequently since he was diagnosed and witnessed the terrible pain, hospital admissions and low points he and many others endure fighting the condition.[/p][p]My running as enabled me to compete in many races including; 5K, 10K, 9 mile events, various half- marathons and the London and Yorkshire Marathons. Whilst taking part in these events, I was able to raise funds and awareness for the Wakefield Hospice, Cystic Fibrosis and British Heart Foundation Charities, something I am extremely proud of.[/p][p]I am proud to be sponsored by Simply Health to run in the Great North Run 2019 and will be my second time. However this time its very personal and hugely important to me. [/p][p] “I feel it was important to try and raise awareness and funds, especially in light of the recent death of a much loved colleague who recently passed away after battling the same illness.” [/p][p]Lets raise awareness and funds for PANCREATIC CANCER UK![/p][p][br][/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me, and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Pancreatic Cancer UK. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Thank you for taking the time to read my page. Please donate to this fantastic cause! I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]Andrew x[/p]
