Team story

[p]Thank you for visiting the 2017 fundraising page for the friends of Anglers Den, Pevensey Bay, East Sussex. [/p][p]In 2017, the friends of Anglers Den will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan provides advice and support to anyone effected by a cancer diagnosis, with the aim that no-one facing cancer should walk alone.[/p][p]There will be a number of Fundraising Activities over the coming months, from the 'Weight Loss' project with built-in donation forfeits (all for fun and a joint venture with our neighbours from Over The Moon Party Shop), to Glyn's Beach Casting Tuition being paid for by customers donating directly to Macmillan. We will also be holding a Raffle with some fantastic donated prizes (our suppliers, and customers,  have been very generous), and we will be selling books, some donated tackle, and cakes in the shop. There will also be a Beach Fishing Competition in Pevensey Bay on Sunday 28th May.[/p][p]Glyn and Sue will then take part in the London to Brighton Ultra Challenge walking from Richmond in West London to Brighton (100k), over Whitsun Bank Holiday Weekend -  27/28th May. Supporters can sponsor them either via the fundraising page, or the sponsorship form in the shop, or just by supporting any of the fundraising activities listed above. It all goes directly to the Macmillan, and will all be paid into this fundraising account.[/p][p]Then from 24th June until 1st July, a friend of Anglers Den, David Tame will take part in a 7 Day/24Hour Beach Fishing Marathon in Pevensey Bay. People can sponsor David to catch as many species of fish during his week of non-stop beach fishing. You can sponsor David via the sponsor foem in the shop or on this page - all proceeds go directly to Macmillan.[/p][p]We will post regular event updates on our Facebook Page.[/p][p]If you are a friend of Anglers Den, and have any fundraising ideas - please come and speak to us in the shop :) [/p][p]We will be collecting money for Macmillan both by encouraging people (esp those eligible to claim Gift Aid) to make their donations directly via this fundraising page, and also via the Macmillan Collection pot in the shop. When the pot is emptied, we always ask one of our customers to help with the count-up and then the money is also paid into this fundraising account.[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor all our efforts, and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Macmillan. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim 'Gift Aid' on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
