My story

[p][span=color: #000000;]I self-funded this epic challenge and made it as big as was humanly possible because I had set myself a massive target! The only thing I knew was that as an individual I needed to make it different and interesting in order for me to ask people to part with their hard earned money. I have absolutely no experience of fundraising and perhaps this has been the hardest part of all.[/span][/p][p][span=color: #000000;]I travelled 50,000 miles in 50 days across 7 continents playing my bagpipes in [/span]more than 12 iconic locations - [span=color: #ff0000;]NEW YORK - RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL - [lt]span style="color: #666699;"[gt]SAN FRANCISCO - ALCATRAZ - RIO DE JANIERO - CHRIST THE REDEEMER - COPACABANA BEACH - [lt]span style="color: #33cccc;"[gt]ANTARCTICA - PARADISE BAY and NEKO HARBOUR - [lt]span style="color: #800080;"[gt]AUCKLAND - THE SKYTOWER - SKYWALK  - [lt]span style="color: #0000ff;"[gt]SYDNEY HARBOUR - BONDI BEACH - HONG KONG - THE PEAK - TOKYO - THE SHIBUYA CROSSING - [lt]span style="color: #ff00ff;"[gt]JOHANNESBURG - THE REGINA MUNDI CATHOLIC CHURCH IN SOWETO - MOSCOW - ST BASILS CATHEDRAL - [lt]span style="color: #333399;"[gt]LONDON - HMS BELFAST[/span][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][span=color: #ff0000;][lt]span style="color: #666699;"[gt][lt]span style="color: #33cccc;"[gt][lt]span style="color: #800080;"[gt][lt]span style="color: #0000ff;"[gt][lt]span style="color: #ff00ff;"[gt][lt]span style="color: #333399;"[gt]Initially I was involved with two charities but am now predominately raising funds for [/span][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt]The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity who make every mile count to serving and former members and their families providing grants to other smaller charities as well, ensuring that every need is covered. I am proud to be a member of The Royal Navy Pipe Band Association.[/p][p]"There were times when the going got tough and these are some of the obstacles I overcame; I was on my knees suffering from sleep deprivation after travelling all night from Hong Kong to Johannesburg to play at the Regina Mundi Church in Soweto, the viral infection before Antartica which would have made it impossible for me to travel, my back going into spasm in Auckland...but I always knew I would complete the challenge and if we can raise as much as we can, I will have achieved everything that I set out to do.[/p][p]I am the first person to have travelled across all 7 continents playing the bagpipes in one trip. It has been a privilege to connect with pipers and drummers around the world, often on the day and I felt incredibly humbled by their support."[/p][p]I have made this bold venture a total success and given my all physically and mentally but I'm not finished yet until I am closer to my target. I am currently organising a charity event in December. The amount raised so far is extremely impressive from under 200 donations! Please continue to donate and be a part of this incredible journey with me. [/p][vmgvideo class="ql-video" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ezkx4WN4KVE?showinfo=0&rel=0&iv_load_policy=3"][/vmgvideo]
