Team story

I didn't want to bother you until now, until I'd got all the long, boring ploddy runs out of the way. They're pretty dull to do, so I can only imagine how dull they might be to hear about.

So, mindful of quite how fast my friends' eyes glaze over at me even mentioning running, and even more mindful of the barely concealed scorn on my son's face when I drag up a fascinating fact on the subject, I'll cut to the chase:

This is my third London marathon, and my first with the TV Times Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research team. I've been taken under their welcoming wing, and run a handful of races in the easily spotted 'Banana Army' fluoro yellow top.

The TV Times team was born out of Ken Lomas' response to the loss of his daughter to leukaemia, and his extraordinary efforts to raise money for a fledgling charity to fund research into its cure.

http://www.beatbloodcancers.org/

Through TV Times' support, a committed group of celebrities and others (I'm one of the others) take part in these high-profile races to raise awareness and money.

I haven't set a target but any contribution you can make will be appreciated more than you'll know.

You'd also be so welcome to come along on the day - seeing a friendly face in the crowd means a helluva lot.

Best

Anthony
