[p]Strictly singer Hayley Sanderson has teamed up with survivors of domestic abuse to create a charity cover of Britney Spears’ ‘Stronger’.[/p][p]It is a song recorded by survivors, on their phones, in their homes during Covid-19 isolation. The single will raise money for London based Bede House’s domestic abuse team and national domestic abuse charity Women’s Aid. [/p][p]All proceeds will be DOUBLED by an external funder up to £50,000 and go exclusively towards supporting survivors of domestic abuse. [/p][p][Click 'Read More' to listen to Stronger and view the video below][/p][p]--[/p][p]This was a project that came together out of love. A burning desire to support people impacted by domestic abuse. To build confidence and hopefully raise funds.[/p][p]Their children are survivors too, and the song includes an original rap from local artist and Bede youth worker Yaz, who shares the impact on child survivors of domestic abuse.[/p][p]In the UK, the number of domestic homicides have more than doubled during lockdown.[/p][p]These women and children, and the team that coached them, are using their voice to send a powerful message to survivors still trapped with abuse: you are not alone and there is support out there. [/p][p]You can help #SupportSurvivors during this crisis. Lucy Bradley House - Bede late 80s early 90s
Bede was my childhood, so many amazing experiences! Reminiscing about those times and came across this. I was also a victim of domestic abuse, I’m proof you can get through it! Two things so close to my heart! So glad you are still making a difference xx
