[p]Hi, [/p][p]A huge thank you for visiting our fundraising page. [url=http://www.laserase-bolton.co.uk/][b][span=text-decoration: underline;]Laserase Bolton[/span][/b][/url] (medical laser and skincare specialists) and the [url=http://www.boltonft.nhs.uk/get-involved/charitable-giving/][b][span=text-decoration: underline;]Bolton NHS Charitable Fund[/span][/b][/url] have joined together to hold a [b]Big Bolton Charity Cake Bake [/b]on Saturday 10[sup]th[/sup] October 2015.[/p][p]The aim is to raise awareness and money for those suffering from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) a distressing condition that affects millions of women in the UK. The symptoms of PCOS include ovarian cysts, irregular periods, difficulty getting pregnant, weight gain, excessive hair growth on the face and body, hair loss from the head, acne and the increased risk of getting certain types of cancer. Although PCOS can’t be cured, the symptoms can be managed.[/p][p]By baking a cake and participating in this event you can help support Verity the UK charity for woman whose lives are affected by Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and also the Gynaecology and Dermatology departments of the Royal Bolton Hospital who treat women with this condition.[/p][p]To support this event we would like to suggest that you donate a minimum of £5 for each cake you enter into the Cake Bake competition (£2.50 for children) but please feel free to donate more if you so wish. [/p][p]The event will open to the public at 2.00pm when you will be able to view all the cakes. Judging will take place between 2.00 – 3.00pm and prizes will be announced around 3.00pm. The winning cakes will be auctioned off and the cakes entered will be available for sale to raise more money for the charities.[/p][p]Thank you for your participation.[/p][p][b]About Verity[/b][/p][p][url=http://www.verity-pcos.org.uk/]Verity[/url] is the UK charity for women whose lives are affected by Polycystic Ovary  Syndrome. Verity was established in 1997 to share information about the condition and to improve the lives of women living with PCOS. The charity is run by a dedicated board of Trustees and a team of volunteers. Verity organises an annual conference, which brings together the world’s leading PCOS experts, and publishes a range of information booklets and a digital newsletter with the latest information and research on the condition. In some instances your GP will be able to fund treatment related to excessive hair growth due to PCOS.[/p][p][b] [/b][b]About the Gynaecology and Dermatology Departments of the Bolton NHS Foundation Trust[/b][/p][p][b]Dermatology Department[/b][/p][p]The consultant-led integrated skin service (dermatology and minor skin surgery) provides specialist assessment and treatment for skin disorders.  They aim to deliver an accessible and timely service within community health premises where possible. The service focuses not just on treating skin disorder but also on raising awareness and understanding of the importance of long term skin care and the prevention of skin disease, in particular skin cancer.[/p][p][b]Gynaecology Department[/b][/p][p]A full range of gynaecology services are provided for planned and emergency assessment, diagnostics and treatment including surgery when needed. This is provided by an expert team including doctors, nurses, therapists, radiologists, pathologists and oncologists in a dedicated women’s healthcare outpatient unit or as an inpatient on the women’s only ward.[/p]
