Team story

Hi, thanks for visiting our page.

On July the 16th and 17th the Blood, Sweat & Beers team will be doing their level best to rise to the Gurkha challenge of walking 100 kilometres (or just over 62 miles) from Queen Elizabeth Country Park, near Petersfield in Hampshire, all the way to Brighton Racecourse in under 30 hours. All members of the team are over 'a certain age' and so this makes it all the more of a challenge.

We aim to raise £2000 for Oxfam (but hopefully much more!) to help them do the worthy work they do in helping to combat poverty and suffering across the globe, and also for the Gurka Welfare Trust to help relieve poverty for ex-Gurkhas and their dependants.

This challenge will test to the limit not only our physical abilities, but also our mental strength and we fully expect to be quite broken by the end. Donations will help us make it to the finishing line and will be going to help excellent causes.

Through Virgin Money Giving you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed along to Oxfam. Virgin Money Giving is a not-for-profit organisation and will claim Gift Aid on a charity's behalf from HMRC where the donor is eligible for this (essentially if you are a UK tax payer). If you pay tax in the UK, please accept the request to include Gift Aid - it adds around 25% to your donation at no extra cost to yourself.

We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

- Team "Blood, Sweat & Beers"
