Team story

[p]Thank you for visiting the Berwin Leighton Paisner walk team fundraising page for the 2016 London Legal sponsored walk.[/p][p]We are walking to raise funds for London's legal advice charities. Half of the funds we raise will go to our community partner St. Hilda's East to help them run their daytime advice surgeries.  We also run a weekly evening pro bono clinic for St Hilda's East.  The other half will support legal advice agencies in London.[/p][p]Team members include:  [span=color: #008080;]Alison Klarfeld; Anaîs Shenton; Andrew Hockley; Anna Dannreuther; Carly Williams; Carolina Carlstedt; Caroline Stocks; Catherine McGrath; Daisy Burgess; Emma Chalhoub; Emma Ramsey; Erin Douglas; Gemma Jones; Hana Tawfik; Helen Wood; Iain Suttie; Jasmine Sherr;[/span][span=color: #008080;] Joby Davies; Julia Mckie; Kate Pooler; Kathleen Hanna; Louise Roberts; Lucy Morton; Matthew Baker; Nileena Premchand; Rachael Southern; Rebecca Alexander; Rebecca Biggin; Rebecca Desa; Rebecca Holland; Rebecca Moseley; Sara Magrath; Sarah McAtominey; Sarah Ward; Sarah-Jane Hall; Sasha Rubinstein; Shirleen Kirk; Tamara Quin; Tim Smith; Victoria Newbold; William Jones, Giulia Carloni, [/span][/p][p]Community service and pro bono activities are an important part of Berwin Leighton Paisner’s practice. Through these activities we regularly work with the legal advice charities who help the poorest and most disavantaged Londoners and so we know what a good job they do and we know how much they need your support.[/p][p]Law Centres and specialist legal advice agencies provide their services through a mixture of legal aid contracts, local authority funding and charitable donations. The agencies make a huge difference to people's lives, reducing debt, poverty and homelessness, and combating discrimination and injustice.[/p][p]Funding cuts had already reduced the service by 25%. Then the Government made further cuts that removed several areas of social welfare law from the legal aid scheme, including benefits, debt, employment and non-asylum immigration.[/p][p]Please help us to raise much needed funds to keep the agencies open by digging deep and sponsoring us online. Thank you in anticipation of your generosity.[/p][p]The BLP team[/p]
