Aoife, Amanda, Ingrid and Emily will be the only all-female four in the race and hope to set a world record as the first female four to complete the journey. [/p][p]Their challenge will involve rowing 2,400 miles from Monterey Bay, California to Honolulu, Hawaii. To put this challenge in to perspective, over 5000 people have summited Everest whereas only five people have rowed this route.[/p][p]The team will face sleep deprivation, stormy 40-foot waves, physical pain and psychological exhaustion as they row in alternating two hour shifts for the duration of the race. Self-supported, they will carry all of their food and equipment on-board their 24 foot ocean rowing boat.  [/p][p]The goal is to raise over £40,000 for three superb charities; WaterAid, Hope and Homes for Children and The Ahoy Centre. Any support to help us reach this target is hugely appreciated and we would love for you to follow our journey at www.boatylicious.org.[/p][lt]p style="text-align: center;"[gt][span=color: #0000ff;]As part of WaterAid's 'To Be a Girl Campaign', the UK government (DFID) will be doubling all donations made before [lt]span class="aBn"[gt][lt]span class="aQJ"[gt]9 September.[/span][lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][/p][p]We have had to set up our fundraising page again for various reasons but huge thanks must go to our supporters who have already kindly donated a very generous £1,671.98 to Hope and Homes for Children;[/p][p][i]Campbell Gordon, Martin Billings, Lance Anelay, Mark and Stephanie Fernandez, James Burgess, Karen Johnson, Field Seymour Parkes.
