[p] Hi Friends! [/p][p]I am excited and honored to be a part of the London Air Ambulance (LAA) charity team while running in the Royal Parks 1/2 Marathon on October 13th. This effort is the result of a seed planted years ago to run with my friend of over 25 years for our 40th Birthdays! I’d love your support in donating to a worthy cause. I chose this wonderful charity for several reasons: [/p][p]I have both friends and family who serve as flight medics and air rescue team members. Knowing in some small way, I’m supporting the community to which they belong is warming to know others will receive top notch teams/treatment when in need. [/p][p]London is congested! Knowing LAA is able to reach patients in an avg of 6.7 minutes flight time is inspiring. London Air Ambulance has a pioneered approach to their work and vision. They are not your typical 'life-flight', instead, they ‘bring the hospital to the patient’ and I desire to help them in small part become standard-setting in their work. (Read their site for more on their mission/values and methods!) https://www.londonsairambulance.org.uk/[/p][p]And maybe most fun reason is my youngest, Stefan, has had a servants heart since he could show it. He quickly and seamlessly latched to Emergency and Police Services as his hearts desire, and I don’t see this desire changing anytime soon. Moreover, he has become fixated on the fact that he will live and serve in London as a First Responder. In the depths of my heart, I believe he will go out and love on the world. He regularly borrows from the library, as many books on First Responders, their equipment, methods, training, (and for military as well) as his little arms can hold. Even as I researched this charity through their website, he saw the images of the helicopters and began to ask all the questions! What kind of air rescue helicopter is that one? Where does that air rescue work? How many crew? Can I work on it? Who knows, maybe he'll be on their medical rescue team? [/p][p]I greatly appreciate your consideration of support in this effort to ensure their services continue to meet the needs. Did I mention, they serve **anyone** in severe trama need in London, visitor, tourist, resident. It's all charity, so the patient incurs ZERO cost. Incredible![/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to London Air Ambulance.
Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. (US residents, don't worry about this part ;)
Again, I appreciate all your support and thank you in advance for any donations.[/p][p]Warmly, [/p][p]Catherine xx[/p]
