Team story

[pre=white-space: normal;][p]Hello and welcome to my Challenge 30 fundraising page![/p] [p][/p] [p]2015 is the year that I turn 30. It feels like a bit of a landmark, so I figure there's nothing else to do but celebrate the big three-oh in style.[/p] [p][/p] [p]So every month of my thirtieth year, I will complete a sporting challenge. From 100K hikes and 10K swims to Santa fun runs, I've got a whole lot planned.[/p] [p][/p] [p]But whilst each monthly race will hopefully remind me that being 30 isn't THAT terrible, there is a much bigger reason for all this supposed 'celebrating'. [/p] [p][/p] [p]I am raising money for S.A.L.V.E. International - a cause that couldn't be closer to my heart. S.A.L.V.E. is a Ugandan and UK-run charity working with children living on the streets of Uganda and their families. I co-founded the charity with two friends seven years ago and I sit on the Trustee board to this day.[/p] [p][/p] [p]I aim to raise £30,000 over the course of the year - which means I will need to bring in £2500 a month to hit my target. This money will build us the new home we so desperately need for the children under our care - children who have nowhere else to go and who have been without this stability for so much of their lives.[/p] [p][/p] [p]£30,000 is a big target, but it's doable with YOUR help...[/p] [p][/p] [p]I'm looking for volunteers to join me on all of my challenges. Whether you've never run a race in your life or are a seasoned pro, there's something to suit you. So take a look at the events calendar and get in touch. [/p] [p][/p] [p]So yes. I'm going to celebrate turning 30. I hope to raise a shed load of money whilst I'm at it. And I hope that some of you out there will come along and join me for the ride.[/p] [p][/p] [p]It will be FUN. I promise.[/p][/pre]
