Team story

[p]Hi Everyone, Charlie, myself and his grandparents are climbing Snowdon to raise money for two charities very close to our hearts - Small Steps and SWAN UK (Syndrome Without A Name), a project run by Genetic Alliance UK.[/p][p]Many of you will know I have a gorgeous, happy little girl called Eloise who is 3 years old.  She has severe developmental delay, learning difficulties, a respiratory condition and she is unable to walk or communicate.  Despite numerous tests the professionals are still unable to diagnose her although they believe the cause to be genetic.[/p][p]As I'm sure many of you can imagine - this feels very isolating and life has been very difficult until we discovered SWAN UK, a project specifically set up to support families of children with undiagnosed genetic conditions.  The Facebook support group is amazing and its so nice to know there is a group who know what it is like to travel a different path to the rest of the world.[/p][p]The other charity we have decided to support is Small Steps, based in Roehampton where Eloise goes for therapy fortnightly.  The sessions are based on the principles of Conductive Education which is about active learning, life skills broken down into small achieveable steps based on the strong belief that children with physical disablities can learn new or differenct ways of approaching and dealing with everyday tasks through a greater knowledge of their own ablilities. [/p][p]Thank you so much for your support, it is greatly appreciated.[/p]
