My story

[p]The last year has been a tough one for our family as most of you will know Olivia was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma in October 2018 which resulted in her having to have her right eye removed. Six rounds of Chemotherapy and five weeks in Germany for proton beam therapy followed and throughout Olivia has been amazing you wouldn't even know what she was going through as she maintained her happy (often cheeky) spirit.[/p][p]The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) have been an amazing support to our family from our first trip to the Royal London Hospital we were met by Lesley who was brilliant to providing us with a support grant to help us while we were in Germany. [/p][p]What makes CHECT stand out for me is they don't just support the children through treatment they offer guidance through school years, during transition to adulthood and beyond, answering questions about other issues later in life, like managing artificial eyes, schooling or how to access genetic counselling. They also provide support for other members of the family, for example grandparents, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters who have all been affected by the diagnosis in different ways.[/p][p]We can't thank them enough which is why I am so happy to be able to run the London Marathon for them and hopefully raise as much money as possible with your help. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
