My story

[p]A horse riding accident in 2007 left me paralysed from the chest down. Since then I have rebuilt my life, and one of the new interests is riding motorbikes. I never sat on a motorbike before my accident so it has been a tough journey learning, but I managed to get my ACU licence (race) so I get out and do track days. [/p][p]In 2012 I walked the London Marathon using a robotic suit. It took 17 days but finally i made it! It raised £220k to help cure paralysis. I am so grateful to everyone's generosity. [/p][p]In 2018 I was awarded the Spirit of London award from the London Marathon and was given a guaranteed entry to the 2020 race. I like to take opportunities that come my way and as I was hoping my 2020 would be a lap of the Isle of Man TT course at the Manx Grand Prix but that wasn't to be this year (still hoping 2021) I came up with this daft idea. I am pushing around the marathon course in my wheelchair dressed in my motorcycling gear but sadly leaving the Ducati at home! It will be tough as the leathers are so restrictive and I have never done a lot of pushing anyway! When I push out of the pit lane to the garage I feel it is hard work so 26.2 miles is going to test me to the max- and the aim is to complete in a day not 17 days![/p][p] I'm inspired by the work that Whizz-Kidz do in enabling disabled children and young people to lead fun, active and independent lives. Whizz-Kidz provides vital mobility equipment, opportunities to meet and have fun, and training to help gain skills for a brighter future. YOU can help ME help some lovely kids that deserve to have the equipment they need to be mobile :) Thanks for any support.[/p][p] I would love you to sponsor me by giving whatever you can using the red 'Donate' button above. All donations will be quickly passed from Virgin Money Giving to Whizz-Kidz for them to start putting your money to work straight away. Your kind donations will help transform the lives of disabled children and young people across the UK, supporting them to become confident and independent young adults.[/p][p] The more people that know about Whizz-Kidz, the greater the impact will be in helping more young disabled children become independent and the money you give will quite literally open up a world of opportunity for these young people. Please spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thankyou in advance for your support and generosity, it means a great deal! [/p]
