My story

[p]A year ago today, 28th April 2019, I ran the London Marathon for Dementia as part of team Dementia Revolution. Who could ever have predicted where we would be in the world just a year later 😞. Understandably people are worried about everything that is going on around us; we miss our family and friends and all the things that we took for granted as part of everyday life. [/p][p]All I wanted to do is hug my family. Dropping of the odd food package in the rear garden is not the same. You see the lockdown can effect people with Alzheimer's and Dementia is a devastating way. They can be scared of the changes, they don't understand why their daily pattern has changed and why people are keeping their distance.[/p][p]You see one of my biggest worries is that my Dad will forget that I'm his daughter and that's heartbreaking. We need to isolate them to keep them safe and with us, but this still comes at a price.[/p][p]I was contacted by Dementia UK recently and offered a charity place for London Royal Parks. It took me a little while to think through as I did a lot of fundraising last year, however, it's a charity very close to my heart, that can have deversating consequences for families, and we need to raise vital funds so that everyone has a future and can remember their past ❤ [/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
