My story

[p]#GpsArt Running Challenge[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]So new year comes new challenges. I will be challenging myself to do something different this year. I'll be doing lots of drawings. Sounds easy? [/p][p]I'll be doing many drawings, not with my hands, but with my legs. You heard it right with my legs. The challenge is to draw 20 #GpsArts with my legs on the map (I've completed 20 now, and the journey still continues as I wish to help out even more) and also doing 2 Marathons for the year 2020. Have you tried to do any GPS Art before? It's not as easy as I thought it will be, it's tough, it takes lots of time and effort, but it's all fun. The best thing is, you get to stay active, keep running, and to be able to help people with paralysis to live an active life along the way.[/p][p]Do you know that, every day 3 people in the UK are paralyzed due to spinal cord injury? There are more than 50,000 people in the UK and Ireland are living with paralysis caused by spinal cord injury. I will be playing my part to help out as much as I can as part of the #TeamSpinal athletes.[/p][p]Why not join me? It's for a good cause and I'm proud to be part of the #TeamSpinal athletes. View my journey below. Please help as little as you can (or as much as you can). It's for a really good cause with @spinalresearch.[/p][p]Follow me on Instagram and find out more about my progress and training.[/p][p]https://www.instagram.com/coderunnerguy/[/p][p][br][/p][p]How did the #GpsArt challenge happen?[/p][p]Well, long time ago in a galaxy far far away. A guy named Jeric traveled all the way up north to Glasgow at the end of Dec 2019 to celebrate Christmas which at that time I thought that it's fun to try and draw a GPS Art face as I'm too free and bored (you can view the first one drawn below). As you might have guessed, a face lead to another face and this time Santa on Christmas Eve, and then came the TRex roaming around and so on and it grew into a challenge to see if I can draw more and also to fundraise to help people with paralysis to live an active life again with the great charity of Spinal Research.[/p][p]Who am I?[/p][p]I’m Jeric (aka @coderunnerguy). I’m a coder by day and runner by night (well, sometimes I run by day too, I guess). I’m sort of an accidental runner as I remembered nearly 2 and a half year ago, I’ve been asked to run my first ever half marathon for a charitable cause with the company’s team (RY Runners) without realizing that a half marathon is not really just a 10k in the park. A week after signing up, I’ve got my team t-shirt with my name on it and my captain asked me about my training. I’ve casually told him that I don’t even need to do a training since it’s only 10k which I’ve then really found out from him that there is a reason why people called it a half marathon and not a 10k. The bright side of it is, I’ve still got 2 weeks before the race starts so 2 weeks of training and what could possible go wrong, right? To tell you the truth, the longest distance I can run non-stop before the race was 7k, and I did managed to complete the race in the end finishing at 2h 17m. It was tough and I remembered being broken for a week after the race. [/p][p]Few years down the road, I started falling in love with running bits by bits. I enjoy the freedom of running, being active, and being around like-minded people. I appreciate this feeling and understand the fact that not everyone is as fortunate as us. Hence I’ve decided to play my role and to give back to the community this time by fundraising for Spinal Research, a UK charity that funds ground breaking medical research for spinal cord injury.[/p][p]I really hope that you can support me and Spinal Research, with a small donation as EVERY PENNY helps and there are no big salaries or unnecessary costs and every penny really does count. Let's all do our bits to help spinal cord injury victims overcome paralysis and to live a normal life.[/p][p]So, the challenge that I will be doing this time is to draw 20 GPS Arts (it can be more) and also to run two World Major Marathons in 2020 which is London Marathon and the New York City Marathon.[/p][p]My first race will be with London Marathon (26 April 2020) and then the New York City Marathon (1 Nov 2020).[/p][p]Follow me on Instagram and find out more about my progress and training.[/p][p]https://www.instagram.com/coderunnerguy/[/p][p]Please support us❤❤[/p][p]Lots of Loves Always,[/p][p]Jeric (aka coderunnerguy)[/p][p]xXx[/p][p][br][/p][p]GPS Art Challenges -
