My story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]I am to take on a challenge tougher than Everest in July 2013 - [b][span=background-color: #ccffcc;]Swimming the english Channel.[/span][/b][/p][p][b][span=background-color: #ccffcc;]I am SELF FUNDING THE SWIM so every penny donated will go to Rainbows and the amazing work they do.[/span][/b][/p][p]Less than 1,000 people have completed the 21 -mile cross-Channel swim, whereas over 3000 have conquered the world's tallest mountain. Only one in ten people who train for the channel actually complete it.[/p][p]The English Channel is one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, with over 600 tankers and 200 ferries crossing it every day. Other problems include debris, jellyfish, currents and tides.[/p][p]As part of the challenge you are not allowed to wear anything that aids buoyancy or warmth. However I will be accompanied by a support boat to ensure I stay out of trouble.[/p][p]I hope to undertake this epic challenge in the week beginning the 13th July 2013.[/p][p][span=text-decoration: underline;]Rainbows Hospice[/span][/p][p]Sadly, some children simply don’t live long enough. Since 1994 Rainbows Hospice have opened their doors and hearts to those children and the people who love them most. And now more than ever, they need your help to keep on bringing care and happiness to our children and families.[/p][p]As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, Rainbows is a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support. The incredible team of people help relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, support parents and siblings through their bereavements and care for children until the end.
