My story

[p]In December my sister Sophie Claydon was diagnosed with kidney cancer and had to undergo a major operation just after Christmas. Unfortunately, although the removal of the tumour and kidney went well, it had already spread. [/p][p]We are remaining positive among family and friends that the advances in research and drugs, along with Sophie's already evident fighting mentality, can defy the bleak prognosis we were initially hit by. [/p][p]Myself and her partner PETER HART decided to channel (and pedal) our new year energy into something positive to aid the ongoing research advances in fighting cancer, and have been joined by two cycling buddies; JAMES KING and JAMES MOULD (aka Mouldy).[/p][p]We will be among the 100-strong TEAM ITFC (representing Ipswich Town Football Club) to embark on a tour of Suffolk on our bikes that will take in 150 miles across two days, with an overnight stop at Potters Leisure Resort in Hopton-on-sea, near Lowestoft.[/p][p]The event will get under way from Ipswich Town's stadium at Portman Road on Sunday, May 14 and conclude (hopefully!) on returning there on Monday, May 15, 2017.[/p][p]We will be fund-raising for both Cancer Research UK and The Friends of Ipswich Town charity. You can sponsor us here and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.  We all really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations, no matter the size.[/p]
