[/span][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][span=font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;] [/span][/p][lt]p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"[gt][span=font-family: Calibri;][lt]span style="font-size: small;"[gt]If you are Harriet, you were seven when it was diagnosed and, now, more than eight you have been waking up to this prospect for over a year. Your body is young and strong and fights the cancer.[lt]span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"[gt]  [/span]It can’t however stop you losing your hair, so you have a wig which can be hot and itchy and makes you a little self-conscious.[lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][span=font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;] [/span][/p][lt]p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"[gt][span=font-family: Calibri;][lt]span style="font-size: small;"[gt]If you want to play with your friends, Mummy and Daddy have to check that they are in good health because your immunity is weak and the risk of secondary infection is high. Even then, you can’t play for too long because you feel tired more quickly than you used to. [/span][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][span=font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;] [/span][/p][lt]p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"[gt][span=font-family: Calibri;][lt]span style="font-size: small;"[gt]If you want to learn, you can’t go to school so you have your lessons at home. Which is lucky because Mummy is a teacher. [lt]span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"[gt] [/span]Your younger brother and sister still go to your school, so you know that you are, for now, different.[lt]/span[gt][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][span=font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;] [/span][/p][lt]p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"[gt][span=font-family: Calibri;][lt]span style="font-size: small;"[gt]If you are now close to the end of your treatment, you have been through all this and more. And you have been sustained by all those who love and care for you, from your parents and family, to friends, and to the doctors and the nurses, some of whom work directly for CLIC Sargent. [/span][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][span=font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;] [/span][/p][lt]p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"[gt][span=font-family: Calibri;][lt]span style="font-size: small;"[gt]If you want to know what CLIC Sargent does, it provides dedicated nurses and social workers at hospitals throughout the country, provides “homes from home” for families who have to be away from home while their child is being treated because every day, 10 children are diagnosed with cancer.[/span][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][span=font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;] [/span][/p][lt]p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"[gt][span=font-family: Calibri;][lt]span style="font-size: small;"[gt]If you want to help, Harriet’s Daddy and some friends are going to climb a mountain, in fact 3 mountains on the Three Peaks Challenge over 24 hours on Midsummer’s Day in June in aid of CLIC Sargent. You can sponsor us by clicking the 'Donate now' button on this page.[/span][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][span=font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;] [/span][/p][lt]p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"[gt][span=font-family: Calibri;][lt]span style="font-size: small;"[gt]If you can give something, however small, then you will have filled each day for children like Harriet with a little more hope.[/span][lt]/span[gt][/p][p][span=font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;] [/span][/p][lt]p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"[gt][span=font-family: Calibri;][lt]span style="font-size: small;"[gt]Thankyou[/span][lt]/span[gt][/p][p] [/p]
