Ed & Ben Devizes to Westminster Canoe race.

[lt]h3[gt]Hey! thank you for getting this far, we have set up this page in the hope to raise awareness of our chosen charity [url=http://www.talking2minds.co.uk]Talking2Minds[/url] as well as raise some money for them.[lt]/h3[gt] [p]Both myself and Edmund have been training for the past couple of months working on paddling technique, fitness and strategy with the aim of firstly completing the Devizes to Westminster 125 mile canoe marathon and secondly in a respectable time. This is going to be the toughest challenge I have undertaken to date and for Ed, well this is his third attempt so quitting isn't an option. ;-)[/p] [p]To put this challenge into perspective, promoted as the Everest of canoe marathons Sir Steve Redgrave retired from this event after 17hrs and James Cracknell apparently said it was one of the toughest thing he has ever done. Personalities to own a DW medal are explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes, double Olympic gold medallist rower James Cracknell and Rebecca Stephens, the first woman to climb Everest solo.[/p] [p]The current plan is to leave early Saturday morning 30th March and aiming to be in Westminster between 8am and Midday Sunday 31st March. We should be passing through Henley on Thames approximately 10pm Saturday night.
