Team story

[p]Hi, I'm Cristin and I've run a lot of half marathons.  I think I've run 13, but I'm not really sure.  One of those races was the Silverstone Half Marathon.  When I ran there were two ice storms and I was beaten by a man dressed as The Stig.  I think I was the last person to board the bus back to London.  I carried the medal for about 3 years, sort of cursing at it and wondering what might have been.[/p][p]So you can comfortably say I have a vendetta against this race.[/p][p]Fast forward a few years or five and I'm working with this really cool guy called James.  James loves F1 and one day made the mistake of telling me that:[/p][ol][li]He'd taken up a bit of light running.[/li][li]He thought it would be funny to sign up for the Silverstone Half Marathon so he could tell everyone he'd 'raced Silverstone.'[/li][/ol][p]This of course then prompted me to sign up to run Silverstone again which prompted him to sign up and here we are: me with a vendetta and James with a big first half marathon on his hands.[/p][p]I asked James to choose a charity to run for, because if I'm going to carry a lot of angst against a race, best focus it on getting some funds in for a good cause.  James chose Cancer Research UK, which is a brilliant charity that supports all manner of good work in Cancer Research.  [/p][p]It's even more important for us because we've got a colleague who is totally kicking cancer's posterior at the moment, and we want to celebrate that.[/p][p]So please give what you can.  Thanks so much for stopping by![/p]
