Team story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting our page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]We know you get asked to donate to hundreds of charities so we are undertaking multiple events for our 5 choosen charities in the hope that some will work for you.  [/p][p]A little about the charities[/p][p]SUDEP Action I became aware of this amazing charity after the tragic death of the son of a friend, a boy with so much life to live who died in his sleep one night.  There are at least three epilepsy-related deaths a day in the UK. The majority are Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) which is still not fully understood - it’s time to take action.[/p][p]British Heart Foundation hopefully needs no introduction.  Cath's grandmother was one of the earliest people to have heart surgery and although she died many years ago it is in her memory that she rides and runs for BHF.  [/p][p]DMWS an amazing charity which helps injured service personnel 24/7[/p][p]Cancer Research - thankfully things have improved so much in this area but there is still work to do.[/p][p]Finally the Pelvic Partnership.  This charity is a small charity run by friends in the village but whose impact is felt throughout the country.  We were lucky with all of our children, some women aren't.  [/p][p]So what are we doing[/p][ul][li]A few 5k running races[/li][li]A couple of 10k running races[/li][li]A 100mile ride in a day[/li][li]Lots of 60 mile bike rides[/li][li]And finally we are riding from Oxford to Edinburgh in August.  [/li][/ul][p]Why?  Well partly cos it they are there and partly cos it's time to get active again - fitness in our 50s![/p][p]Thank you for you so much for your donation.[/p][p]The one charity we aren't supporting yet but needs a mention is Freddies Wishes.  A charity in memory of a fabulous young man whose smile lights up the internet and who Cath is running the WOLF run in Sep.  [/p]
