Team story

[p]We did it! The Fosterval Four (Hazel Wilcock, Helen Keane, Mike Speight and Nancy Foster) all threw themselves out of a plane on Sunday 25th March from 13,000ft. This was all for a local Berkshire hospice, Thames Hospicecare.[/p][p]Thames Hospicecare does amazing work, providing palliative care for cancer patients as well as support for their family and friends. For those of you not aware, my husband Lee Foster was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2007. He died in May 2009, aged 41.[/p][p]Before that, he spent time at the Windsor Hospice: the support and understanding we both received were second to none. I remember the first day we arrived, just after lunch. Lee was asked if he wanted anything to eat. Instead of giving him set menu options, he was able to choose - which he did! Chicken noodle soup and jelly & icecream. I have no idea how the kitchen managed it but that is exactly what he got. It illustrates the individual care and attention that the staff give all the patients.[/p][p]So Thames Hopsicecare are 25 years old in 2012. And on 25th March, the 4 of us (and some others) will jump out a plane to help them raise some much need funds to continue for another 25 years. Oh, and we will also be celebrating what would have been Lee's 44th birthday the following day. So far, we have raised enough to provide over 80 hours of specialist care for people with terminal and life limiting illnesses. [/p][p]So please, donate what you can to this great cause. Every penny counts. And if you're a UK taxpayer, please let THc claim gift aid too.[/p][p]Thanks[/p][p]Nancy[/p][p]xx[/p]
