Team story

[p][span=color: #ff6600;]Breaking Team News: Our most valued team member, Stephanie Wood-Smith, will be walking the Green Park Challenge with Ian.[/span][/p][p]A team of 37 runners (young and old) will be tackling the Reading Corporate Challenge this year in support of Headway Thames Valley, FSP's charity of the year.[/p][p]Headway Thames Valley seeks to improve the lives of adults who have acquired a brain injury since birth in addition to supporting their families and carers.[/p][p]Headway is a charity that FSP has supported over the years and one of our retired partners, Richard Gilby, is the current President. However, the charity's importance became even more poignant last year when Stephanie Wood-Smith, the wife of FSP's senior partner Ian, sustained a serious head injury.[/p][p]After a number of weeks in an induced coma and four and a half months in hospital, Stephanie's strength and determination overcame her injuries and she was able to return home. Since going home in October 2014, Headway has provided invaluable support and encouragement to Stephanie, Ian and their sons Alex and Ollie.[/p][p]Inspired by Stephanie's grit and determination, FSP has decided to take on the Reading Corporate Challenge with a new level of enthusiasm and we have a group of 37 runners made up of colleagues, friends and family taking part on 22nd March to raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause. [/p][p][span=color: #ff6600;]The FSP team is delighted to confirm that Stephanie will be supporting our fundraising efforts by walking the course with Ian. For Stephanie to complete the Green Park course she will be walking considerably more than she has walked since the accident.  It will be remarkable.[/span][/p][p]Here are some interesting facts about the FSP team...[/p][ul][li]We have 20 runners doing the full half;[/li][li]For 5 of those, it will be a first;[/li][li]We have 19 runners tackling the green park challenge;[/li][li]Of those, the youngest is 5 and the oldest is 55;[/li][li]We have 2 runners doing the half and the green park;[/li][li]We will be running in fabulous FSP/Headway tops so you can’t miss us;[/li][li]Our team has clocked up very approx 5,000 training miles (come on, we are lawyers not accountants!).[/li][/ul][p]If you have any spare pounds and would like to support this fabulous cause, we would be very grateful for any donations you feel you are able to make.[/p][p]Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.[/p]
