My story

[p]Unless the weather changes, on Friday morning I will be greasing up, packing my passport and swimming from Dover to France. I have an incredible crew supporting me, Eric Hartley - Pilot on his boat Pathfinder, Gary Watkins - crew, Keith Oiller - CSA Observer, and joint legends in their own rights Caroline Sims and Doloranda Pember.[/p][p]I am fundraising for the Portstewart Outdoor Recreation Fund which enables people of any physical or mental ability to take part in outdoor recreation and try something new. https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/heather.clatworthy[/p][p]If you wish to track the swim, click here and find our boat: https://www.channelswimmingassociation.com/tracking[/p][p]For updates look on www.facebook.com/HeatherClatworthy or Twitter @seaswimheather.[/p][p]Thank you to all my friends and family for enabling this to happen, particularly Michael & Margaret Stevenson and all of you who have been helping me train, you know who you are.[/p][p]Lilly & Basil are so excited about this, for those concerned I might just bob out to sea & not return, I won't be pushing myself to the brink for a swim, I wouldn't do that to my little folk. Equally, when I tried to explain it is the taking part that counts, Lilly has declared it is "France or nothing Mummy" so we will have to see how far I get. If you want to help, sponsor me, pray for dolphins, no jellyfish, and the wind on my back the whole way! Messages on here and twitter can be written on a white board which I can see held overboard so post away, I will need some laughs after a few hours in the brine![/p]
