My story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting my page. This year I will be doing my biggest challenge as I will be taking part in the 2018 London Marathon on the 22nd of April and I have decided to raise money along the way for the below 2 charities:[/p][p]Crohns & Colitis UK - Crohns is an invisible illness as you can’t see it but it can also be really hard to diagnose, my mum suffered with Crohns for a long time but sadly due to her not being diagnosed until it was too late me and my family lost her 4 years ago. This is a terrible disease and we seen what it can do to you if left untreated and I don’t want any families going through what we went through so any money raised will go into researching this terrible illness and then hopefully there will be less suffering as more people will be diagnosed early enough and will receive the treatment they need before it is too late. [/p][p]CHUF ( children’s heart unit fund) - CHUF provides research, essential heart equipment and much more to children’s heart units at several hospitals around the UK one of which is Newcastle Freeman Hospital where currently one of my closest friends 1 year old little boy is being treated for dilated cardiomyopathy and is currently on the urgent transplant list waiting for a new heart, due to this charity’s continued support the hospital have the most up to date equipment they need plus helping in other ways like funding the play teams/playrooms who support the children and help them grow & develop while being treated. CHUF is also one of the charities that funds Scott House which is the parents accommodation within the hospital where parents can stay without the added worry of having to travel miles to visit their little ones, without this my friends wouldn’t be able to stay at the hospital and be by their little boys side, any money raised will go and help my friends and their little boy as well as other children and their families now and in the future.[/p][p]Thanks[/p][p]Lyndsey [/p][p][br][/p][p]Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
