My story
[p]Update![/p][p]England cricketer Ben Stokes is running his first half marathon on Tuesday 5th May and would like to raise money for the NHS and Chance to Shine via this page. To support Ben as well as Charlie, Rob and Rob, please consider donating to our page. [/p][p]Thanks for reading and good luck, Ben![/p][p]---[/p][p]The story so far....[/p][p]Weird! Surreal! Bizarre! (No, not the facial hair). [/p][p]All appropriate ways to describe the current situation that we find ourselves in, they also make apt descriptions of the way in which Charlie, Rob and Rob have decided to raise money for the NHS and Chance to Shine. [/p][p]Ever run a marathon in your back garden? Nor have they! But in order to show their support for the NHS and Chance to Shine they’re going to give it a go on Saturday 2nd May.[/p][p]But there’s more! Every cricket fan will be starting to mourn those long summer days spent watching two people run between six pieces of wood stuck upright and 22 yards from each other (an important detail!). Well, be sad no longer! Charlie, Rob and Rob have decided to fill this void in your life by doing it in cricket gear and live streaming it so you can enjoy the monotony of scoring 2,387 runs from your sofa. Yes, whites, gloves and bats will all be accompanying them as they each run 26.2 miles from crease to crease. Watch the full video here: https:/****3aWfWf3 [/p][p]Why? They are doing this to raise money for the NHS and cricket charity, Chance to Shine. By donating to these charities you’re helping support two incredibly worthy causes, showing that resilience that will get us through isolation and undoubtedly see us overcome Covid-19.[/p][p]NHS Charities Together supports NHS staff and volunteers and, at this time, is vital in caring for Covid-19 patients. As the National membership organisation for NHS Charities, they represent, champion and support the work of more than 140 member charities.[/p][p]Chance to Shine spreads the power of cricket throughout schools and communities. It is a national charity that aims to give all children the opportunity to play, learn and develop through cricket. They work with over 500,000 children each year, using cricket to help develop the personal, social, and physical skills of children.[/p][p]You can follow their progress on Twitter at @GardenMara.[/p][p]Thank you for your support![/p][p]Charlie, Rob and Rob[/p]
