My story

[p]In 2016 I set out on an epic 1500 mile Horseland Journey around Britain, exploring Britain's horse history on horseback, visiting all of Britain's white horses and much more besides. My ride was in aid of Cancer Research and Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of my many friends who have died from cancer, and to help others suffering from cancer. [/p][p]After three and a half months on the trail with my two Fell ponies, only 9 days before the end, I was forced to stop by serious back problems. Nothing in comparison to what others have to contend with, but I have really struggled to come to terms with my body letting me down. For three years I haven't been physically up to returning to complete my ride - until now. Time to finish the most important unfinished business in my life. [/p][p]I'm setting off again on 18th August 2019 from Ditchling in East Sussex, where I set off on my last day in 2016, rewriting the painful memories of my last day with much happier memories. Having been told I'd never ride again, I know how lucky I am to be able to be able to live my dream. Riding one pony (Micky) and leading the other (Micky's sister Glory) as my pack pony, I will be heading east on the South Downs Way to the Litlington White horse, and then across the Weald and Romney Marsh to our last white horse at Folkestone, above the channel tunnel.
