Team story

[p]On 8 August, the three of us - Jon Hoare, Finbar O'Callaghan and Andrew McDonald - took part in the London Triathlon. We were doing so to raise money for two causes close to our hearts.[/p] [p]The first is Scope, the disability charity. Its aim is simple: to create a society in which disabled people get the same chance as everybody else. Each of us has close personal experience of disability in our families; we have worked to improve the life of disabled people in our workplaces; one of us (Finbar) is a paediatric neurologist who has daily experience of working with disabled children; and one of us (Andrew) is the chair of Scope.[/p] [p]The second is the Cure Parkinson's Trust, which has an equally audacious goal: to cure, slow or reverse Parkinson's. In the course of his work Finbar has, from time to time, to break the news that a child has Parkinson's. Andrew himself has Parkinson's and he is on the Board of the Trust.[/p] [p]We gave it our best shot on 8 August and we came in a shade under 4 hours. Thank you for all your support in the run-up to the event and on the day. Thank you also for your generous sponsorship.  As you can see, we are almost there (£10k without Gift Aid).  If you were able to nudge us across the line, that would be just wonderful.[/p] [p]Thank you,[/p] [p]Jon, Finbar and Andrew[/p]
