Team story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting our page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]Please lend your support to a group of old geezers who thought it would be a great idea to cycle from Newcastle upon Tyne to Joppa, just south of Edinburgh in 3 days.  Once we realized this actually meant a journey of 210 miles and this was the tougher route (and we're all getting on a bit) it caused a few moments of worry but that was quickly forgotten about when we saw the opportunity to help make a difference to those people dealing with the effects of cancer whilst also comemorating the life of Jo O'Hara who recently sadly lost her battle with this terrible disease. [/p][p]The event will take place between 27th - 29th June and take us through a beautiful part of the UK and involve around 70 miles a day of cycling to achieve our goal of reaching Joppa in three days.  We're doing this not only as a personal challenge but also as a way of raising money for Cancer Research and the Great North Children's Hospital at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle - both very worthy of our and your support.  If you donate via this page your money will go directly to Cancer Research, we're also happy to accept cash donations for the Great North Children's Hospital[/p][p]We hope you'll join us in supporting these great causes which will be a great motivation when things get a little tough during our training and the event itself.  Wish us luck....and have the cushions ready for when we need to sit down afterwards.....[/p]
