My story

[p]A few years ago my amazing and inspiring Uncle Michael was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a neurological condition caused by premature loss of nerve cells in the brain. It was a long, frustrating and bumpy road to diagnosis. Uncle Michael, previously a publisher, distinguished globetrotting Professor and fun loving family man now requires 24/7 care with the loving support of family and an incredible team of carers.[/p][p]Uncle Michael has forever been supportive to me and now it's my turn to give a little something back to him, and hopefully to many others suffering with PSP. Lots of people reading this have probably never heard of PSP and that is exactly what I hope to change. PSP deserves more recognition, awareness and funds for vital research. It took years of hospital appointments, admissions and misdiagnosis' for Uncle Michael until we eventually arrived at a PSP diagnosis. With your generous donations I aim to help limit other families having to experience frustration around misdiagnosis and improve access to the right care, treatment and support when it can have the biggest benefit.[/p][p]Your donations really mean the world to my family and we hope in turn it will help many other families with much needed support through tough times. Donations little and large are all welcome, they will encourage me throughout training and along every mile of the 100 I cycle on July 29th! The Prudential 100 is a day long, 100 mile cycle race going from east to west London, up and down the Surrey hills and then finishing at Buckingham Palace. It's a big challenge and one I'm sure Uncle Michael would want to beat me to the finishing line on! Thank you thank you lovely people![/p][p]"PSP Association (PSPA) is a national charity providing support and information to people living with PSP and CBD, while funding research into treatments and ultimately a cure. PSPA aims to improve the lives of everyone affected by PSP and CBD. But, we rely entirely on voluntary donations, that's why we need your support".[/p]

Well done for raising so much. I worked with your Uncle at the London Business School (as registrar of the Sloan Programme). Deeply shocked to hear about his condition as he is a delightful man. My thoughts are with you.

We are both so proud of you. You looked literally ready to pack it in at Leatherhead and you just kept on going. An incredible achievement in such poor conditions.
