Running the London Marathon

[p]I blame it on turning 40.... always picking the hard option over the simple one.... Always thinking I might be slightly crazy.... but more truthfully ...it is the nagging feeling I've had for years that I really wanted to do some work for a charity. I read a book once that said if you were lucky enough to be born in a safe country with a roof over your head and food in your belly then you should really look to helping your fellow humans who sadly did not have these things. This has stayed with me for many years and I finally feel at 44 ready and combined with being passionate about the work that Weston Hospice does, the time is now. [/p][p]Sadly there will be a day when I may need to be a patient in a hospice. I have visited friends and family as patients' in the hospice and I have nothing but admiration, love and respect for the nurses and staff who work there. They are true Angels that walk amongst us and their love and compassion is very special. If I can raise money for them whilst challenging myself with The London Marathon (back to the "crazy" idea !) then I have done what I set out to do!
