My story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]This will be my 13th yearly sponsored Macmillan walk covering the 212 miles of Scotlands official Coast to Coast Trail, beginning at Portpatrick on May 17th and ending at Cockburnspath on June 2nd,midway between Dunbar and Berwick.[/p][p]The resolve to support Macmillan Cancer Support has not diminshed since losing my Wife Jenny 16 years ago age 47.[/p][p]The medical support was very good, but it was as though everyone worked in boxes, concentrating on their treatment given.[/p][p]The three weekly regieme of Chemotheraoy took its toll, constantly sick the first two weeks and unable to digest food,a little better the following week, then back onto the treadmill of Chemotherapy, dropping from 9 stones to 5 in two months,[/p][p]We endured the bad days and enjoyed the good days.We coped as best we could without any offer of help.[/p][p]No one should live with Cancer alone as we did,but it is so different now. However there is more to accomplish as Macmillans target is to reach everyone living with Cancer to support them with  Financial,Practical,Emotional & Medical specialists to change their lives of despair into a life to be lived.[/p][p]I can only play a small part in this desire, but do not wish for anyone to feel so isolated as we were in 1999.[/p][p]Anyone wishing to follow my route and daily Blog, log into penkridge.org.uk keith burtons Macmillan walk[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
