My story

[p]Thanks for taking the time to visit our Fundraising page.[/p][p]In November 2019 we are taking on a once in a lifetime challenge as we trek to Everest Base Camp to raise money for Prevent Breast Cancer.[/p][p]2019 is a big year for the Occleston family as it’s been 10 years since our Mum, Lindsay, was diagnosed and overcame breast cancer. Over the past 10 years she has been an inspiration raising money and taking part in her own personal challenges to raise money for Prevent. Prevent breast cancer is an amazing charity as it’s the only UK charity dedicated to funding ground breaking research aimed at preventing the disease for future generations. [/p][p]Our 13 day trek will be extremely challenging for the two of us. The 9 day accent will involve 5-7 hours of walking, battling the elements and a definite risk of altitude sickness. The summit of our trip being Everest Base Camp, which stands at over 5300 metres above sea level![/p][p]This charity has played a massive part in our families life and we appreciate anything you contribute to help us achieve our joint goal of £10,000 for 10 years. Please donate generously.[/p][p]Laura and James[/p]
