My story

[p]Some of you may be aware that back in July 2017 I joined a fab group of people and hiked Snowdon the tallest mountain in Wales.[/p][p]Clearly that wasn't punishment enough, because this year I'm not doubling the challenge but aiming to triple it - in May I will be heading to the Yorkshire Dales National Park to take part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.[/p][p]The challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, with a distance of 24 miles (38.6km) and an ascent of 585m (5200ft) to (hopefully) be completed in under 12 hours. [/p][p] [/p][p] [/p][p]10 years ago I had spinal surgery to correct a spinal curvature caused by Scoliosis. After months of recovery I was finally able to return to work and resume my day to day activities but more importantly I was able to do more things and enjoy them on an increased level due to no longer suffering from debilitating pain and discomfort. [/p][p]I have never been particularly sporty or into this sort of physical activity but now this opportunity has arisen and I am determined to take part to prove to myself that I can do it and if I can raise some money for such a great cause then even better. [/p][p]Scoliosis Association UK is a fantastic charity that provides advice support and information to those suffering from scoliosis but also to their families. [/p][p] [/p][p]I would love it if you could support myself and this charity.[/p][p][br][/p]
