My story

[p]Thank you for visiting my page. In April 2018 I will be running "In the Footsteps of the Fallen" to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the end of the First World War and raise money for ABF The Soldiers' Charity.[/p][p]After running the Paris Marathon on 8th April, I will then run back to London, following the line of the Western Front and visiting many of the significant battlefields and memorial sites of World War One. I will finish my journey by running the London Marathon on 22nd April.[/p][p]Although I am an experienced marathon and ultra-marathon runner, this challenge is a significant step up from anything I have done previously and will involve running around 360 miles, or a marathon a day for 15 days. I will be running off road (other than the two organised marathons) and self supported, carrying my own kit and camping for most overnight stops.[/p][p]I will be raising money for ABF The Soldiers' Charity, a charity that as a former Army Officer is very close to my heart. [span=color: #000000;]The Soldiers' Charity provide lifelong support to our soldiers, veterans and their immediate families. The Soldiers’ Charity makes grants to individuals through their Regiments and Corps and supports a wide range of specialist charities that sustain the British Army ‘family’, both at home and around the world.[/span][/p][p][span=color: #000000;] The help provided might include paying for adaptations to a wounded or elderly veteran's home, providing grants for household goods for families in hardship, or helping a wounded, injured or sick soldier gain new skills to transition to civilian life.[/span][/p][p][span=color: #000000;]I would be delighted if you would sponsor my challenge and support The Soldiers' Charity in the vital work they do.[/span][/p][p][span=color: #000000;]You can follow my progress on my blog: https://lizzierunning.wordpress.com/[/span][/p][p][span=color: #000000;]Twitter: @lizzierunning[/span][/p][p][span=color: #000000;]Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lizzierunning/[/span][/p][p][span=color: #000000;]Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lizzierunningblog/[lt]br /[gt][/span][/p][p][i] Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the charity. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on the charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/i][/p]
