Lockdown Half Marathon for Topsy

Thank you from us and from The Topsy Foundation.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Hello, I am a 17 year old Lower 6th pupil and I have been lucky enough to spend many of holidays in South Africa. My family try to help the local people there as much as we can. We have donated clothes and shoes, food, educational materials and money. I have met some of the children that we assist and I have come to realise that I am very lucky to be well fed, have shelter, good clothes and I am extremely privileged to be able to attend school.[/p][p]We've just had 9 weeks of lockdown in the UK, initially it took me some to time to get used to our new way of life. Then I started thinking about how the lockdown would affect the children of South Africa. When I saw the photographs of queues of people waiting in line for food donations, I realised how difficult this will be for them.[/p][p]So a group of my school friends and I decided that on the 30 May we are going to run/cycle/row (or any combination of these) for 21.1 kms, the distance of a Half Marathon. We will do this for the children of South Africa and that is why we have decided to raise funds for The Topsy Foundation.
