My story

[p]Note - 30/04/2019[/p][p]Since completing the marathon on Sunday I have been soo fortunate to have received soo many well received donations along with very kind messages. I wanted to say a massive thank you from the bottom of my heart for all these donations and words, it means soo much to both myself and Dementia Revolution! [/p][p]Thank you [/p][p]Lukas (Big Ben) Bates[/p][p]Original Below (Pre Marathon)[/p][p]I have a place in the London marathon 2019 & I am going to attempt to break the record for the fastest marathon dressed as a landmark (Big Ben)! I have now manufactuered a Big Ben suit which comes in approximately 1.5 metres over my head. The current record is 3hours 34 minutes and 34 second and can be viewed below: http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/375738-fastest-marathon-dressed-as-a-landmark-male[/p][p]I have always wanted to attempt to break a world record and this should push be a great opportunity! [/p][p]I will be raising money for Alzheimers research UK & Alzheimers Society (Dementia Revolution). This charity is close to my heart as I have first hand experienced the effects of this to very close family members as they have battled with this disease. My Nanny (Pat Jackson) passed away last year after losing her battle with this, she had this horrible disease for many years and lost allot of who she was through this. I saw how this not only impacted on herself but also all of her close friends and family around her. This condition is still effecting other family members as my Grandma (Alex) is living and coping with this at her home in Bath. During my visits to see both Grandparents I have seen the deterioration and change in charexteristics and would be soo grateful for any and all donations to assist in the prevention and treatment of this illness for others going forward. [/p][p]It would mean the world to me any donations made and be really appreciated. [/p][p]... I hope you like my costume design .. I recently asked my Grandma in Bath what she thought of it ... she looked slightly confused and asked why I was a clock and had a little laugh! [/p][p]Thanks soo much [/p][p]Lukas (Big Ben) Bates x[/p][p][br][/p]
