Team story

[lt]h3[gt][span=color: #ff00ff;]2016 is going to be a BIG year for us! not only do we turn 40!! (we know thats hard to believe when we still act and look like 12 year olds lol) but we had a moment of madness and decided to enter into a tincy wincy run! Yup we've decided to take part in one of the most iconic marathons, the London Marathon. For us pair of ex Olympians its going to be a walk in the park #NOT What have we let ourselves in for!![/span][lt]/h3[gt][lt]h3[gt]We have decided to run for the[span=background-color: #ff0000;] [/span][span=color: #0000ff;][lt]span style="background-color: #ff0000;"[gt]British Lung Foundation[/span][lt]/span[gt], a charity very close to our hearts.  This amazing charity supports people with a variety of lung condions whether it be lung cancer, emphasyma or COPD they help and support people fight against these horrible lung conditions.[lt]/h3[gt][lt]h3[gt][span=color: #0000ff;]Sadly 8 years ago we lost our wonderful Grandad to COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). He suffered for many years with this conditon which became more and more debilitating as the years went by.  His last few weeks with us were just heartbreakingly hard to watch and he slowly lost his battle against this incureable condition.[/span][lt]/h3[gt][lt]h3[gt][span=color: #0000ff;]To make things worse 7 years ago our Dad aka Phil Da Beat (my Grandads son) also got diagnosed with the same conditon, COPD. Sadly there is no cure for COPD.  [lt]span style="color: #0000ff;"[gt]T[/span][lt]/span[gt][span=color: #0000ff;]he British Lung Foundation offer support, advice and for the past three decades, have spent more than £24 million on research to increase survival rates, improve diagnosis, treatment and care, and develop understanding of lung diseases.[/span][lt]/h3[gt][lt]h3[gt]FUNDRAISING:[lt]/h3[gt][lt]h3[gt][span=color: #ff00ff;]So far we have held a charity Rock and Roll record hop where various dances were taught to our Jive fanatics they were even lucky enough to have a beginers Tap class with two fablous Tap sensations as teachers - US lol                          T[/span][span=color: #ff00ff;]hen followed and evening of Rock and Roll dancing.  We want to thank both our Mum & Dad for helping us organise this event, we couldn't have done it without them and their Rock and Roller friends.[/span][lt]/h3[gt][lt]h3[gt]We will also be holding a D I S C O hopefully in March, more details to follow soon so keep your eyes peeled for info.[lt]/h3[gt][lt]h3[gt]Lastly we will be relying heavily on donations from all our friends and family.  We want to smash our target and can only do that with your help and support. We would be eternally grateful for any donations big or small, as TESCO say 'every little helps' but please, if you can make sure you tick the Gift Aid box too.[lt]/h3[gt][lt]h3[gt][span=color: #3366ff;]One more thing, if you are free on the Sunday 24th April and want to come up to London we'd love to see as many of you as we can along the route, please ensure you bring lots of Jelly Beans, water and PROSECCO!! lol We don't have a finish time in mind, we just want to finish the run before that man in the diving suit lol[/span][span=color: #3366ff;] [/span][span=color: #3366ff;]oh and get that shiny silver cape and a medal and hopefully still have the ability to walk to a train station to get home!![/span][lt]/h3[gt][p] Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
