My story

[p][span=font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;]Hi, thank you for visiting my page.[/span][/p] [p][span=font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;]My name is Mario Farrugia, and I come from the small island in the middle of the Meditteranean - Malta![/span][/p] [p][span=font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;]I live in Malta with my wife and two children aged 9 and 13. I am an accountant by profession, and running is my passion! I train 4 to 5 days a week, between road running, track and strength training. I have run a number of events - full marathon, half marathons and other shorter distances - mostly in Malta, but also abroad.[/span][/p] [p][span=font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;]In hindsight and with experience I can say that even though each event has its own characteristics, a full marathon is a different ball game, which requires also building your psychological strength, not just physical. So your support to the cause thoughout my training will play a very important part to keep going and gain the stamina required to build up for the day![/span][/p] [p][span=font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;]I am very grateful to have received my education and formation under the jesuits, having attended schooling up to post secondary at St Alosius' College, a school run by the jesuits in Malta. The jesuits continued to form an important part of my life even after I finished my education, till this very day.[/span][/p] [p][span=font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;]In fact, in the past years I have been involved within a team of Jesuits & Friends in Malta, participating in the Malta Marathon to raise funds for the various projects run by the jesuits in Malta. This year, together with another two jesuit friends from the province, have decided to take our fund raising efforts a step further by taking part in the 2018 Virgin London Marathon to raise funds for the Jesuit Missions.[/span][/p] [p][i][span=font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;]Jesuit Missions helps marginalised people in countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America.  In the past few years, marathon funds have helped refugees caught up in the fighting in the Middle East, including providing medical assistance in Syria and counselling for families in South Sudan. [/span][/i][/p] [p][span=font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;]I invite you to visit the Jesuit Missions website to gain further knowledge on the valuable work done by the jesuits - jesuitmissions.org.uk.[/span][/p] [p][span=font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/span][/p]
