My story

[p]Update Monday 31 July: I made it. An ealry strt (4.30am) and a long day (home at 6pm) with 7 hours 11 minutes in the saddle in between. As of today the total raised is £1015. Thank you to all those who helped me over the line. [/p][p]Although I wasn't keen to cycle more than the 100 miles, I am keen to go well beyond my fundraising target. Please donate. [/p][p]I first came across St Michael's nearly 40 years ago. I've been an admirer for all those years and now I've got the chance to do something to help. And also I get the chance to cycle 100 miles which is 3 times more than I've ever done before - and because I've been given that chance by St Michaels I've donated the first £200. [/p][p] Please donate whatever you're inspired to give. See how St Michaels https://stmichaelsfellowship.org.uk gives children the best chance of a good start in life. [/p][p]Follow #UpAgainstIt and help get me over the finish line and break the cycle of poor parenting. [/p][p] My biggest challenge will come about 13 miles before the finish line in The Mall when I'll be cycling right past the end of my road, knowing that a cup of tea and a shower are just 100 yards away. Tough. [/p][p]But with your encouragement I think I've got a good chance of doing it - and not only that but St Michaels will have a chance to help more children and families too.[/p][p][br][/p][p]St Michaels says: 'Based in Lambeth, south London our organisation was originally a Christian charity, the Fellowship of St Michael and All Angels. Today we work with vulnerable families from many different religious and cultural backgrounds. We believe that everyone has the capacity for change and have seen transformation in the most unlikely places. We treat parents with respect and honesty. At the same time, we are clear that the welfare of children is at the heart of everything we do'[/p][p][br][/p]
