My story

[p]Hi everyone,[/p][p]I am running the London Marathon for Embrace Child Victims of Crime. The charity works with law enforcement agencies and safeguarding professionals like myself to support children who have been victims of crime, helping them to heal in many different ways such as specialist counselling, guidance, practical support like buying school uniform and 'cheer up' support such as family days out, to bring a little sunshine into lives that have been devastated by crime. [/p][p]I first learnt about Embrace Child Victims of Crime a few years ago through my dad, the late Chief Constable Alfred Hitchcock. He was a huge supporter of this charity, as well as the vice chair, and I am hoping that I can continue to support the charity. The money we raise will go towards helping to mend the lives of the children who are going to grow up to be the adults of our future. We have to make sure that they have the opportunity to thrive and shine in spite of the hand they have been dealt.[/p][p]Please visit the website www.embracecvoc.org.uk to find out more about the fantastic work the charity do, and please dig deep and donate whatever you can, anything you can afford, to help improve the lives of these children.[/p][p]Thank you for your support, and I will see you at the finish line![/p][p]Mel x[/p][p][br][/p]

I'm so proud of you for doing this Melanie. It will be emotionally difficult without your wonderful Daddy by your side as in Paris 2016. What fun you had! He loved you very, very much and will be with his own little 'Dougie Douglas' all the way!
