My story

[p]Hiy My Name is Michael Beynon, I have a Learning Disability (Down's Syndrome) and am visually impaired. My dream for years and year is to run the London Marathon and thanks to Mencap next year 2020 I can achieve my dream. I like to compete in various sports my favorite is running.[/p][p]By running I will achieve my dreams and by donating you can help other citizens with learning disability achieve theirs.[/p][p]Right now, people with a learning disability face inequalities in every area of life with almost 1 in 3 young people with a learning disability spending less than 1 hour outside their home on a typical Saturday. [/p][p]They face barriers finding a job, accessing activities in their local community and receiving good quality healthcare. We tackle these issues head on by providing support in a way that meets individual needs and encourages greater independence. [/p][p]We give expert advice and information that empowers people and their families. And we campaign relentlessly for changes that brings greater equality for people with a learning disability.[/p][p]By supporting Team Mencap you will be helping us to support people with a learning disability to live the life they choose, and do the things they love.[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Mencap. [/p][p]Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. [/p][p]I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
