My story

[p]Some of you will know about my adorable nephew, Aari, who passed away after an accident in November 2016. He spent four days in the loving care of the amazing Paediatric (Intensive Care) team (PICU) at St George's Hospital where the nurses and doctors did everything they could to make him better. While Aari may not be with us anymore, his heart still beats on, including six of Aari's other organs, as he gave the ultimate gift of life to other children that needed them.[/p][p]As a thank you to the team at St George's for their tireless work, world class care and professionalism, I as Aari's masi (auntie) will be running the London Marathon on 28th April 2019 to raise funds for the PICU team at St George's. I remain very 'proudy' of what Aari achieved in his short life, and I want to ensure other families receive the same extraordinary care from the PICU team at St George's during extremely difficult circumstances. St George's Hospital Charity aim to raise funds to benefit patients, support healthcare staff and improve facilities within the the St George's family. [/p][p]More information on the great work the charity does can be found at https://www.stgeorgeshospitalcharity.org.uk/ and further information on the tremendous care the PICU provides can be found at http://www.georgespicu.org.uk/. [/p][p]Even after his passing, Aari continues to promote the life changing benefits of organ donation, if you want to know more please read his story on https://www.facebook.com/nhsorgandonor/videos/10154576159321816/ as well as other's on, including how you can become an organ donor https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/ [/p][p][br][/p]
