London Marathon 2020

[p][b]Welcome to the Virtual London Marathon 2020 - This is now Nancy and Friends. With the support of my wonderful friends & family [u]WE[/u] will be taking part in the virtual London Marathon on Sun 4th October this year. NOT what any of us expected but our charity desperately needs these funds to continue their amazing work in the deaf world! We'll be run/walking from Poole along the seafront passed Bournemouth and Christchurch finishing off at The Cave Milford on Sea. Jon and Sam will be navigating the way on their bikes. Thank you for supporting us! xx[/b][/p][p]Sadness, loneliness, fear and anxiety is a real thing! We have all felt it. Sadly, some more than others and sadder still, some feel it everyday. The World Health Organisation reports that close to 800,000 people die every year due to suicide. That’s one person every 40 seconds. For every suicide there are 20 other attempts. [/p][p]There are 11 million deaf and hard of hearing people living in the UK. That’s 16% of our population. There are 360 million deaf worldwide. How many of us can communicate with the deaf when they feel sad, lonely or anxious? Signhealth Charity have 6 residential homes, 3 outreach centres, a counselling service in British Sign Language (BSL) and the UK’s only domestic abuse support service available in BSL.[/p][p]18 months ago I changed my career and joined my fabulous boss Boo Holmquest at ‘Achieve Together’ to work in the deaf world.
